Know why you need Pet Professionals or Dog Walker North Bethesda
by Emily Ela SEO AnalystWhat Pet Owners Miss
As pet owners, we see our pets on a daily basis. Most often we are busy with work, kids, chores, and other aspects that take up our time. We do not often stop and study our dogs for all the minute details. Also, because we see our pets every day (often many times a day) we may not notice gradual changes.
Why Pet Professionals Notice Changes
1. Variety of clients: Pet professionals work not only with your pet, but also with a variety of pets. We see everything from young puppies to extremely elderly dogs, healthy adult dogs to middle-aged, athletic to obese dogs, and everything in between. We are able to notice when something may be out of the ordinary for your dog.
2. Increased experience: Many pet professionals have been working with dogs for many years. This gives us a much wider range of reference points to draw from when we see a behavior or physical trait that concerns us.
3. Less frequency: We do not see your pets as often as you do so we are more likely to notice a change in your pet.
4. We are working: When we are with your pet they are our only concern. We are not dealing with children or plans for dinner or work concerns, so we are able to look at your dog with a more specific eye.
What Dog Walker Rockvilles Notice About Pets
As a general concept, we can see overall trends as well as evidence of good or poor care. Things I could tell you quickly:
• Is your pet underweight, healthy weight, or overweight
• Dental health
• Is your pet groomed regularly
• How much exercise your pet gets
In addition, we can notice specific concerns to your pet after knowing him/her for a while. Some may be new, some may be an ongoing concern. Concerns we may note:
• If your pet’s weight has changed
• If your pet’s energy levels have changed
• If there is a growth/lump/bump (groomers are particularly good at this)
• If your pet is looking stiff or arthritic
• If your pet seems depressed or to have had another personality change
Specific examples of changes we have noted for clients:
• A dog who lost a lot of weight between vacations (diabetic)
• A cat who seemed more sensitive when being petted (arthritis)
• A lump on a cat (cancer)
• A dog who gained weight (was sneaking into the food container)
• Cats who were fighting between themselves (dementia in one cat)
These are all concerns we brought to the attention of the client and they followed up and let us know the results. These are many more, and many that we mentioned and there was no specific cause that was found, but better safe than sorry.
In most cases what we are looking for a change in that specific pet that is different from the last time we visited.
What Dog Walker North Bethesda Notice About Customers
We are able to learn a lot about a person from how they care for their pets. That being said, every relationship between a human and their pet is different and we recognize that. Some people have working dogs on a farm, who are cared for drastically different than a lap dog who lives in an apartment. Neither one is wrong, they are just different and should not be judged the same. The most obvious thing we are able to note is if a person loves their pets. That shines through clearly in any relationship.
