Just how much caffeine do you need?

by John Wagner Tokyo Smoke

The allure of coffee is what gets people up in the morning, pulls their spirits from their fantasies back to reality except for kids of course.  With new flavoring at different coffee shops across the world, one can say that coffee has become a “pick-me up drink” for most of the people on the western half of the globe. Starbucks reported 10,924 sales in 2012 alone, no judgment passed but people love their caffeine. According to a report in the Huffington Post, 54%of Americans over 18years drink coffee everyday just yet another factor that supports my argument. The real question that stands however; is there anything of value to get from all the coffee we bag up in the morning?

Think of antioxidants and coffee will spring to mind. Compared to even fruits and vegetables, it is believed that the human body absorbs most antioxidants from coffee. Don’t even get me started with Cannabis coffee, the name just sounds delicious. A parody dreamt up by Adam Stites on a road trip to Washington. Cannabis is marijuana infused coffee cream blend. If you love the aroma of marijuana then this blend will do the magic. A recent research study at the Seoul National University, smelling coffee will lessen the stress levels. The study showed that those who were exposed to coffee aromas experienced changes in brain protein.

Ever heard of Parkinson’s disease? I bet you have. It’s an ancestral and vile disease. Well there may be a way to keep it at bay. A study by Science Daily in 2012 reported that people who drink coffee shop are less likely to develop Parkinson’s. Despite the limited research on this subject, there is hope that the caffeine may be a stop-gap to lifetime problem. Another reason however petty is that coffee makes you happy, at least according to a study by the National Institute of Health. The study showed that those who drink four or more cups of coffee are about 10% less likely to get depressed compared to those who don’t taste. Study author, Honglei Chen proposed reason coffee makes you happy is because of antioxidants.

Coffee is actually good for your liver. If you love your alcohol then leave room for coffee in your heart. A study published in 2006 showed that 125,000 people over 22 years that people are 20% less likely to develop liver cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is an autoimmune disease caused by excessive consumption that could lead to liver failure and cancer. There is more to coffee consumption past the luxury or hiking one’s senses. There is more science behind its existence and approval amongst societies. There is a growing demand of coffee in not just the United States but in coffee shops in Canada. It is time to justify why you actually stop by the Café to pick a cup before running to work, quite a norm in the United States. Following this article we know there is need to re-calibrate for at least the healthy part.
