Mpls is stands for multiprotocol lable switching and atm stands for asynchronous transfer mode. Atm network can send and receive the data on behalf of vpi and vci number, vpi stands for virtual private network and vci stands for virtual circuit identifier.

ATM is the fastest network of switching process, atm has separate protocol, separate address, separate devices, separate devices along with network, means atm is the in depended technology not depended to any other wan technology. If we are using atm network with the help of optical fiber networking then can send and receive the data on behalf of tera bits per second.

Now a days atm and mpls is the best combination for the industry. Mpls is sending the data on behalf of lable number. Means will not check ipv4 address also will not check 128 bit ip address, the time of processing will get save from the user. Mpls is the network layer wan technology which has very good combination with the atm networking. Previous it was frame relay networking. Frame relay network is works at data link layer of osi model. Frame relay has separate protocol, separate address, separate network.

Frame relay works on behalf of dlci number also called data link connection identifier number, there are some private dlci number also there are some public dlci number. Private dlci number can use for the private connection also frame relay network will support for the busty data. Different sizes of the data is called busty data for the network. Frame realy has different kind of the cloud connectivity. In the device will push the dlci number and if data will reach to the last device then on that case will pop the dlci number. In between the network will carry the information on behalf of dlci number so the processing speed of the networking will be fast due to dlci number means no need to check any kind of the address so need to save the time for the security checking, we can check the security if any data entering to the cloud also if any data existing from the cloud then sure will start the removing the address.
