International Airport in Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is a beautiful destination for all paragliding lovers, adventure seekers, bungee jumping, snow skating & a lot more activities. It is the most preferred travel destinations in India. Yes, at present, there is no international airport in Himachal Pradesh but the state has domestic airports which connected to Delhi. But however, in the upcoming years, the CM of Himachal, Mr. Jai Ram Thakur has stated & informed the state assembly.

Himachal Pradesh is all set to get its own international airport which is proposed to be constructed at Naqchala in Mandi district. The Airport Authority of India (AAI), in its pre-feasibility report found the location suitable for constructing the international airport. So, in short, the very first international airport in Himachal Pradesh is likely to be come up soon at the Balh valley in Mandi district of Himachal state in India.

The 3 domestic airports in Himachal Pradesh which are Bhuntar Airport, Jubbarhatti Airport, Gaggal Airport.

Bhantar Airport

Situated approximately 10 km from Kullu & 50 km from Manali in the town called Bhantar of Kullu district, the domestic airport is also known as Kullu-Manali Airport. One can easily catch regular flights from New Delhi to Bhuntar here.

Kangra, Gaggal or Dharamshala Airport

Situated at a distance of only 15km away from Dharamshala & at 8km far from Kangra, this domestic airport is in the small town of Gaggal near Kangra in Dharamshala district of Himachal Pradesh. It is also known by the name ‘Dharamshala Airport’.

Shimla or Jubbarhatti Airport

Situated at the town named as Jubbarhatti at about 22km away from Shimla in HP. This is nearest airport to Shimla - Chail - Kufri - Rampur - Rohru and other upper destinations of Himachal Pradesh.

Domestic flights avail the facility of Gaggal airport while Shimla & Bhuntar airports do not provide the facility of regular flights to accommodate a huge no. of passengers.
