Indian weddings are probably one of the most significant occasions in India. They are getting more magnificent and exorbitant with each passing year. The traditional Indian saree has always been a symbol of grandeur and elegance. These sarees are made attractive and beautiful with great patterns, embroidery and trending colours. Usually red and bright colours, heavy designs and costly fabrics are used which exactly match up with the bride’s personality.

In this country, the preferred choices for a bridal saree is silk sarees. However, fashion is changing with time, and nowadays, we find the Indian women prefer to wear sarees that are made from fabrics like net, crepe, georgette, etc. The fabric selected depends on many factors like recent fashion trends, personal choice of bride and budget.

Red coloured Gadwal sarees has been the first traditional choice for Indian brides. The colour is considered to be lucky and ethnic and is deemed to be connected especially with the wedding. These sarees are a mixture of cotton and silk. It is marked by heavy golden zari work and is available in small, medium as well as large borders.

However, times are changing; young brides prefer to wear contemporary, and light- coloured sarees, Huge range of colours like pink, cream, peach, orange, onion-colour are mostly used in the making of these sarees. Pink-coloured Ikkat silk sarees are in huge demand; even Indian celebrity brides wear these sarees on their big day. These sarees are adorned with stonework, light embroidery and other add-ons.

Another saree that is mostly preferred by Indian brides are Ikkat Pattu Sarees. These sarees are known for their artistic excellence of Ikkat prints that can be traced back in the history. Some of the designs include large traditional motifs of flowers, animals, patterns of diamonds and mythological characters. These are mostly in demand by the Indian brides.
