Improve Every Stance of Freestyle Dance: Here is What the Professionals Recommend

4 tips to entrance the audience every time you show freestyle dance moves

Whether you prefer dancing in front of others or not, you will still agree that dancing exhilarates the mind, body, and even soul. You might not like dancing in front of others, but you cannot deny the happiness you feel while dancing. It not only makes you feel refreshed but also bursts all the pent-up negative energy.

It is mainly because of this reason that most of the parents have preferred to enroll their children in online dance classes during the pandemic. There are multiple forms and genres of dancing, and yes, the wacky dance of yours and your relatives during marriages also qualify as a dance form. We call it the Barati Dance form.

The Barati Dance is all about spontaneity and letting your body decide the moves. There is one more dance genre that was inspired by the same set of principles. Yes, it is Freestyle. Also known as Street Dance, the freestyle dance is all about improv. Obviously, it is way more difficult than the Barati Dance and requires you to practice complex steps before you can perform.

Now, we don't think you are content with your child only doing the wacky dance during marriages. If you want your munchkin to start working on the freestyle dance moves, this blog

is loaded with some useful and actionable tips. Here goes:

Let the Rhythm Guide Your Moves

When it comes to freestyle, there is no point in memorizing the steps for a particular dance because it is more about instant improvisation than anything else. So, what could your honeybunch possibly do? The answer is simple: Listen to the music and then start moving.

For example, let us suppose that the music is on. Your kid is listening to the song and then within a few seconds, his/her head will start bobbing to the music. That is the first movement. Tell your kid to take some time and notice the beat count, bass, etc.

Then, you will notice that the child has started tapping his /her feet. This is the perfect time to encourage your kid to set the body free to move along with the music.

Note: Ask your little dancer not to restrain himself/herself and if you think that the kid is conscious, say these magic words in the ear:

"Close your eyes and imagine that you are in your bathroom."

Get Some Training in a Few Dance Styles

No, we are not asking you to teach 4 or 5 other dance forms to your child. However, you need to train your kid in 1 or 2 dance techniques. These may include any popular dance styles like popping, breaking, locking, belly dance, house, etc.

The moves from these dances will act as the blueprint for freestyle because the child can incorporate these moves into freestyle dance to give it a unique flavor.

Combine Watching Dance Videos with Loads of Practice

If there is one thing that can make your child better than the best freestyle dancer in your area, it is loads and loads of practice coupled with watching several dance videos. While watching the videos will help your child to build a vocabulary of a variety of dance movements, practicing those moves will help the kid to perfect those moves over a period of time.

This step might seem time-consuming, especially when your child has a mountain of the curriculum at school, but there is a practical solution. You can allow 30 minutes each day to watch the videos and 30 minutes for practice. If your child gets stuck on any move, he/she can practice that particular move multiple times a day for 2 to 5 minutes. Simple as that!

Take a Dance Class

This tip might seem way too obvious but when it comes to freestyle, a little bit of professional help goes a long way to take your child's dance to the next level. Besides, enrolling your kid in freestyle dance classes speeds up the learning process. Not to mention, dance classes also boost confidence in shy kids.
