by Digital Marketing Digital Marketing

During the winter season, maintaining your truck can be difficult. Your truck might require extra attention and regular servicing throughout the winter. This will ensure your comfort and safety while driving. Breaking down any part during the journey is a headache, but the freezing weather can make things worse. Therefore it is vital to maintain the truck properly.

To ensure safety, on your next journey, make sure to get the following things inspected before heading down the road:

·         Tyre: When it is necessary, check and replace your tire's tread. If there is a prediction that the climate or the road condition will not be great, use snow tires for better traction or grip. You may also keep chains handy, in case you need to put it. Make sure that the tyres of the tata ace range trucks are in good condition and have proper pressure.

·         DEF System: The DEF freezing degree is at 12 degrees F, which means that it may freeze in northern areas at this temperature. However, it shall come back to a normal state after 45 to 50 minutes of operation. Most emission systems have such designs that they can hold this, but you should regularly inspect for any leakage during the season.

·         Heaters for engine: For the great performance of your truck, the engine must be working properly during any season. Whatever type of heater you have in your truck, you should maintain and check it, especially during winters.

·         Coolant: Inspect the coolant system of the truck and maintain the proper levels required. Most truck manufacturers prescribe to flush out the system every 24 months.

·         Diesel engine: If your truck is equipped with a diesel engine, make sure special directions are followed by you for places where the temperature might drop below 10 degrees F. You should also check the filter and get rid of the water separator to prevent freezing.

·         Battery: The worst thing that can happen is a dead battery in your truck. During winter, check the battery and also clean off all connections beforehand. Generally, in the summertime, the batteries degrade very quickly, but the cold weather also puts a lot of load on the battery which may lead to the failure of the batteries.

·         Other things: Check the condition of wipers beforehand. Clean them when required or even replace them if needed. This will help in the easy working of the wipers. Check all the vital factors of the truck that can affect traction, such as the ABS, parking brakes, brake fluid levels, etc. Also, check that the exhaust system is free from leakage.

Routine that you must follow during winter.

The list mentioned above will help you follow safety this winter, but a modification in your method will also ensure a smooth drive in your truck. Get used to allowing the cold engine to warm up before you start driving and also maintain the defrost system properly. Keep winter necessities like- chains, ice scraper, etc, handy in your truck. It is also beneficial to keep emergency flashers, flashlights, blankets, and flares as you might need them in case of battery failure or for some other emergency.
