Importance of Pre and Post Workout Nutrition

by Parry Joeperia Health & Fitness Trainer

Every individual that engages in working out has a common desire as the outcome. At least if not reducing body fat and increasing the lean body mass, every individual engaging in work out wants to have a well build body. All these cannot be achieved by just engaging in exercise but by a combination of other factors important among them being diet. At the end of the day it is not the one that performs the great exercise but the one that works out smart. The following are factors to consider on pre and post workout nutrition when working out.

Take energy giving foods before working out

Pre workout nutrition is very important while performing exercise. This is because your muscles require a lot of energy in order to provide the driving force to carry out the exercise. If you do not provide energy giving foods before exercise, the purpose of the exercise might become altered therefore you end up with controversial results. This is because your body utilizes protein and fat in the absence of carbohydrates thus reducing your muscle size.

Take body building foods after exercise

Post workout nutrition is similarly as important as the real exercise. Your body embarks into serious body building immediately you finish your exercise. This owes to the fact that there is muscle breakdown during work out and therefore anabolism has to occur. Taking the right post workout supplements will enable your body to stimulate anabolism and therefore building your muscles. One of the diets that have proved to work out after exercise is post workout protein. Other foods that can increase your muscle power after exercise are post workout shake.
