If you chose to be a beauty website then your keywords are something like 'makeup,' or 'cosmetics.' You wouldn't exactly want to be parading around with the cheerleaders in full goth attire.

Making It to the Top of the Food Chain

Now that you've found your clique, you need to make your mark on the clique. Whether we admit it or not, high school friendships are 80% a competition and 20% genuine loyalty -- sometimes. Luckily, competition in SEO isn't seen as a bad thing. You have to make sure your website makes it to the top of the search rank.

Staying There

Climbing to the top of the ladder isn't the end of it, you need to stay on top of that ladder. And how do you do that? By making sure people like you. In this case, it's making sure that people like your website. So you become cheer captain. But becoming cheer captain doesn't happen overnight, it's a long process of maintenance. You never stop putting effort into your website or the ranking will fall. And we've got to say that taking a tumble from the top of the pyramid is a pain, and getting up is even harder.

Developing an SEO technique for your website is about building rapport with the search engine; it's all a matter of strategy and persistence. Just like finding a high school clique, it's a rat race, and only the best make it to the top.
