HOW TO WEAR LILAC THIS SEASON

by Modora Fashion Women's Fashion
Pastel colours are the talk of the town this season. Many fashion brands are coming out with a dominating lilac palette in their collections. Lilac is a soft shade of purple that takes its name from the lilac flowers. The colour has a feminine touch to it and is considered to signify affection and romance. Because it has a feminine aspect, the colour works very well with feminine details like frills, laces and embroideries. You should wear this colour with grace and delicacy.

We tend to stick to basics like black, white and beige to play it safe. Today, we will see how you can style lilac to add some colour to your wardrobe.

 1. Blue colour

Lilac and blue are one of the easiest to carry combinations when styling lilac. You can keep it simple by wearing a high lilac neck with mom jeans. You also can wear a denim jacket over a lilac midi dress with white sneakers. These outfits are perfect if you're planning on keeping them casual. You can also wear a sky blue cropped jumper with some wide-legged lilac jeans for a sweet cotton candy vibe.

 2. Off white/beige

Another easy to style and effortless, pair a lilac dress with a jumper and step into your white sneakers for a comfortable and cosy outfit. You can also wear a lilac maxi dress and accessorise with a white belt, a crossbody bag and white sneakers. Lilac's soft colour is perfectly balanced with whites' solid aura.

 3. Brown

While it may be tricky, brown should be incorporated with lilac in reasonable proportions. Too much and too strong shades of brown would override the soft colours of lilac. For this reason, it's best to accessorise with brown. This is your chance to wear your brown ankle-length boots or carry a classy brown bag as a finishing touch to your lilac outfit.

 4. Pink

Pink is an exciting colour to style with lilac. If you're looking to dress more towards the fancier side, consider a soft lilac top with a frill or lace details and pair it with a pink skirt. Wear lilac block heels and your favourite earrings to achieve the desired look. This outfit has a gentle and feminine touch that will complement the style.

5. Yellow

Yellow and lilac are other soft and fresh combinations. Being on the opposite end of the colour palette, Yellow complements the lilac colour. You can wear a yellow ribbed top with lilac trousers or jeans. If the weather is expected to get chilly, you can wear a yellow blazer over it to add class to the outfit. Yellow and lilac have the potential of being a statement if combined appropriately.

6. Green

This may not be one of the first colour combinations that may come to your mind when styling lilac, but this is a really good and sophisticated blend of colours. Pair a lilac top with a light green coloured checkered skirt. You can also wear a silk bottle green midi skirt with a blouse if you're looking to dress formally.

 7. Lilac

Monochromatic outfits are a promising styling option. When styling unconventional colours, these combinations are the safest bet. Wear a lilac dress with a lilac coat over it. Depending on the occasion, you can wear white kitten heels or sneakers.

8. White

Another one of our effortless and easy to style colours, white, is a pleasant colour to pair with lilac. You can opt for a white off-shoulder top with discrete details and pair it with a lilac pencil skirt. Or you can wear your lilac jumper with white pants for a casual look.
