How to set Up a Window Display for summer
by Primetime Clothing Designer Styles at Wholesale PricesSetting up wholesale clothing window displays for summer can be a complex task, but a well-crafted display will bring business into your store. There are several points to consider when arranging a window displaying clothing for men or women. It is important to remember factors that entice customers to purchase clothes. Some of these factors include timing, showing how the clothing can be worn during entertaining activities, and showing how appealing sets of items look in outfits.
Step 1: Timing
Mid Spring is the best time to set up a wholesale clothing window display
for summer because it allows you to catch customers who are shopping in
anticipation of the upcoming season: planning for vacation, special event,
summer work or play.
Step 2: Clean
Simple, yes, obvious, one would
think, but surprising many stores over look an important step in setting up a
window display: clean the inside and outside of the window. A crisp, clean
window display will make cheap clothes more appealing than high end designs
behind a dingy window.
Step 3: Choose Products
Choose products that are right for summer: light weight pants and tops,
shorts, bathing suits, and sunhat are all standard summer essentials. Instead
of hanging several items jammed on a rack in the window or piling your
wholesale clothes on shelves, display a few of your most popular wholesale
fashions on a mannequin set up in an outfit. Displaying outfits will allow you
to show several items while having the customer’s full attention on the entire
outfit. The same effect can be achieved by showcasing several wholesale
dresses, wholesale tops, or other similar items. The more items of different
type you show in your display, the less attention each item will get from
passers bye.
Step 4: Pick Props
There are different types of props; those used for display such as
mannequins, decorative props such as a bowl of fruit, and structural props like
cubes and posts. A fitting selection for a summer scene would be to arrange a lounging
mannequin wearing a bathing suit or active wear against a plain white sphere.
Or set up a beach scene using blue fabric and sea shells.
Step 5: Support with Signs
Use signs in your summer display to help set the scene. A sunny sky and
palm tree for a casual beach theme, or to tell prospective customers about the
great deal your running on clothing. You can also use a sign to point out the
features of products; for example, the wholesale women’s dress with the empire
waist that “deemphasizes the hips” or the “curve-flattering” bathing suit on
sale. Choose colors for your signs that will attract attention to the product
being displayed.
Step 6: Highlight
Items
To further highlight items use spot lights; one, two, or even three lights
shone on or behind a display draws attention to the clothes being shown.
