by Aron Finch Search Engine Optimizer

We all know that in past few months, Bitcoin has got the boost in his popularity. All Cryptocurrencies are mined by the use of computer’s processing power and that can be the risk for computer security for people.

As per the McAfee, to earn the Bitcoin miners need a large amount of processing power of the computer and few of them are using public Wi-Fi for getting the device access to earn the Bitcoin.

A few days ago, In Buenos Aires, a Wi-Fi hotspot is targeted by the Bitcoin hackers in a café to access the computers of the customers. And same as can be possible with the websites, it thinks that there are numerous of websites that are compromising with the un-visible visits by users.

McAfee’s Chief Consumer Security Evangelist Gary Davis said in the recent blog about the issues: “This has become such a widespread problem, that over 1 billion devices are believed to be slowed down by web-based mining.”

“And slowing your device down is not even the worst thing that could happen. A device that is “crypto jacked” could have 100 percent of its resources used for mining, causing the device to overheat, essentially destroying it.”

This software has gone too far, it is even discovered on the Apple Mac Stores.

Simple ways to avoid the miners to use your computer

Don’t use public Wi-Fi networks- You are at a high risk if you are using the public Wi-Fi networks because these networks are discovered at high risk very often.

Use a VPN- If you are using a network which isn’t in your secure circle so you should use a Virtual Private Network (VPN). This will provide you a temporary identification for the internet so you can hide your actual identification and stop being used by others.

Secure Your Device-It is essential to use the security whenever you use the internet or go online so that malware and threats can’t invade into the computer system. For example, if you are using McAfee antivirus security for your computer’s safety so just make sure that the antivirus is up-to-date.
