How to Prepare myself for Audition

by A.Rrajani Photographer A.Rrajani

It goes without saying that how to prepare myself for auditions is important. When I was preparing myself for an audition, I made sure that I had all my things prepared, from my resume to my portfolio. I also spent quite some time in the library looking for potential audition topics and I even borrowed some scripts to practice my monotone. You have to have a list of your strengths, and what you can bring to the audition. This way, you will know what to say even before you show up.

When I went to auditions, I prepared my whole self. I prepared my body by sleeping well, and exercising regularly. This would mean having a healthy diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables, and drinking plenty of water. If I didn’t feel good, then I couldn’t perform well because my energy level would be low.

If you are wondering how to prepare myself for auditions, remember that in the beginning I would go to the auditions with my head held high. I was excited to show people what I could do. I was confident in what I had to offer, and everyone would be amazed at how I carried myself. But then, once in a while I would forget about that and my confidence would slip.

If you want to know how to prepare yourself for auditions, you have to make sure that you start it off correctly. For example, when I went to an open casting call for theater work, I made sure to bring along my resume and a letter of recommendation. I also made sure to look great! (A lot of actors and actresses get nervous when they don’t look their best and there’s nothing more embarrassing than having to leave an audition because you weren’t looking your best!)
