How to Maintain a Resin Surface

by YRC T. The No1 choice for the professional installer

Here are several tips on how to get the best out of your resin driveway. There are a few different instructions to follow depending on whether you install resin bond kits or resin bound kits. However, the great news is, both types of resin driveways are easy to maintain, so you’ll be glad to know that there’s not too much work involved!

Dealing with Debris and Dirt on a Resin Driveway

Both resin bond kits and resin bound kits require a certain amount of sweeping over the lifespan of the driveway. Resin bond kits should be given a sweep over once installation is completed. After the initial sweep, remind yourself to sweep the drive on a regular basis. The broom should not be metal as these types of brooms could cause damage to the surface.

Resin bound kits will need sweeping regularly too. Sweeping removes debris such as leaves and seeds that when left could cause the growth of algae or mildew to form.

Pressure Washing Resin Bond Kits and Resin Bound Kits

You can use pressure washers on resin bond and resin bound surfaces. It’s essential that care is taken when it comes to the amount of pressure applied. Keep it low and don’t go to close to the surface. Keep the pressure washer at least 20cm away from the surface of drives that are made from resin bound kits. The pressure washer shouldn’t be closer than 30cm on a resin bond surface.

Dealing with Stains and Oil on Resin Drives

Try to remove any spillage as soon as it occurs. Oil and other stains can be cleaned up using your everyday washing up liquid. Apply directly on the stain using a stiff brush and leave it for approximately 10 minutes. Use a pressure washer on the washing up liquid to remove the stain.

Call in the Professionals

If you’re worried about causing damage or have a persistent stain, we recommend calling in the professional driveway cleaners. They will have the tools and the knowhow to maintain and fix up your driveway, leaving it in a great condition.

Easy Maintenance Driveways

Both resin bound kits and Resin Mixers create easy to care for driveways. This is one of the reasons why customers are opting for resin drives over older styles such as tarmac or concrete. The low maintenance combined with the other benefits make them both excellent driveway options to consider.
