How to link music services and TV with Google Home

Want to listen to your favorite music services on your Google Home and set it as your default music service? Here you'll learn how to link your music services and set it as default. You can also connect it with your TV and control your audio and video with Google Assistant.

How to link and unlink music services with Google Home


1.    Connect your device (Phone or tablet) and Google Home with the same Wi-Fi network.

2.    Launch the 'Google Home' app.

3.    Open 'Account' tab from the bottom.

4.    Check that the listed Google account is linked with the Google Home. If it is not, then switch the account by clicking on the triangle next to the account name.

5.    Go to 'Settings/More Settings.'

6.    Go to 'Services.'

7.    Go to 'Music.'

8.    View the music service you want to use as a default.

9.    Tap the 'Radio' button of it.

10.    Tap 'Link,' for music services like Pandora and Spotify. YouTube Premium and Google Play Music will link automatically.

11.    Sign in with the account of music service.

Once you have done this, the music service you selected will get linked with Google Home and set as default. To unlink music service, tap 'Unlink.'

How to link a TV with Google Home

 To connect your TV with Google Home you need cast devices, here are some of them that play media on TV with Google Home.

1.    A TV with in-built Chromecast.

2.    Chromecast.

3.    Chromecast Ultra.

 

Steps to setup and link a TV with Google Home:

1.    Connect your device (Phone or tablet) and Google Home with the same Wi-Fi network.

2.    Launch the 'Google Home' app.

3.    Tap the round ' + Add' icon.

4.    Tap 'Set up a device.'

5.    Tap 'Set up new home devices.'

6.    Select the home to set up.

7.    Tap 'Next'.

8.    Select the device to set up.

9.    Tap 'Next'.

10.    Check the code display on TV, and your phone should match.

11.    Select 'Yes, I'm in or No thanks,' according to you.

12.    Select the room to set up the device.

13.    Tap 'Next'.

14.    Select a Wi-Fi network to connect the device.

15.    Tap 'Next'.

16.    Again tap 'Next.'

17.    Select 'Sign up' to get emails, otherwise 'No thanks.'

18.    Select the video service to add.

19.    And tap 'Next.'

20.    Then tap 'Continue.'

21.    And again tap 'Continue.'

That's it! If you're getting an error, then reset your Chromecast device and again start the linking procedure.

 

Steps to unlink your device from Google Home:

1.    Connect your device (Phone or tablet) and Google Home with the same Wi-Fi network.

2.    Launch the 'Google Home' app.

3.    Select the device you want to unlink.

4.    Go to 'Settings.'

5.    Select 'Remove device.'

6.    And select 'Remove.'

The device you'd selected will remove.

How to select news sources with Google Home app

1.    Connect your device (Phone or tablet) and Google Home with the same Wi-Fi network.

2.    Launch the 'Google Home' app.

3.    Open 'Account' tab from the bottom.

4.    Go to 'Settings/More Settings.'

5.    Go to 'Services.'

6.    Select 'News.'

7.    Select the news sources.

To change news sources order:

1.    Tap on 'Change Order.'

2.    Tap and hold the news source.

3.    And drag it up or down as you want.

To add new news sources:

1.    Tap on 'Add news sources.'

2.    View the source you want to add.

3.    Tap the checkmark to add it.

It's done! Now, this news source will play ask Google Home to play it.
