My son and I were decorating our Christmas tree in the living area. It was a faux, but it was real enough for us. My wife was cooking dinner in the kitchen. We were expecting family and friends.

After grinding and filing for a couple of minutes, we heard the click of the lock coming off the door. The old padlock was hurt and broken, but it stood its ground and hadn’t given up without putting on a fight.

Again, they admired my father’s skills and didn’t comment about my stupidity and childish behavior. I paid them and then offered them dinner, which I knew they would turn down.

They did turn down the dinner offer. The team leader gave me his card. He told me that the company provided any kind of locksmith services one needed. They have many special teams in place for occasions like these and I had no doubt about it.

My son and I saw them off and came inside. I went into the kitchen to tell my wife about the situation. She was done with her work and went to get dressed up for the night.

I looked at the clock and it was time to welcome the guests.
