Google Assistant is handy and beneficial most of the time, but it can be annoying at times too. In that case, you can choose to disable it if you want. It is necessary to know the process of disabling Google Assistant. You can't only give a dedicated voice command like "turn off, Google" as you have to go through the menu. Keep reading till the end to see how you can disable Google Assistant with ease.

Turning off Google Assistant

Google Assistant usually comes pre-installed in most of the Android devices. If you want to turn it off, you need to launch it first on your phone. Go to the search section on your Android phone to find the Google Assistant app, if you are not able to easily find on the home page. Then, find the 'More' icon available with three horizontal dots. It is destined to be there in the bottom right section in the Google app.

Choose 'Settings' option from the menu now, which will be there among the last few options. After tapping it, you will see various options on the next screen. Tap on 'Google Assistant' from the available options, and the associated menu will be shown to you. You will have to tap the 'Assistant' option and keep scrolling down till the bottom next to see the list of available devices. Your phone will be there among the available devices, and you need to choose it. However, if you are trying to disable Google Assistant in another device, you must select the particular device accordingly.

In the next menu, the 'Google Assistant' toggle switch will be there for you. You have to toggle it off to disable Google Assistant entirely from your device. Once Google Voice Assistant is disabled in your device, you won't be able to access anything after giving any voice command. If you try to launch Google Assistant in your phone after shutting it down,  you can only type in manually only in the search section. You can open Google Assistant either through the appropriate button or holding down the power button or by any other method.

One more ultimate method to turn off Google Assistant is through uninstalling the OS updates. Though, it will also disable various other features too. So, this is how you can disable Google Assistant altogether on your Android device easily.
