by Rohan Diwan Marketing Consultant
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research or CSIR conducts the National Eligibility Test or NET exam every year in June and in December. If you qualify this exam, you can be awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and /or Lectureship. This is a very prestigious scholarship and many students attempt to qualify every year. The number of applicants has been increasing every year, but don't be disheartened by the competition. Here are some tips that will help you crack this exam:

1. Understand the Exam Format:
Before attempting any exam, it is important you understand its format. The CSIR NET exam for life sciences consists of three parts. Part A consists of 20 questions on General Aptitude. It is common to all subjects. Part B consists of 50 questions on mathematics and engineering and Part C consists of 75 questions on topics in life sciences. All the questions are multiple choice questions. Please keep in mind that there is negative marking for wrong answers.

2. Get Help:
To join a class or to do it on your own - this is the most common dilemma faced by anyone thinking of taking this exam. But CSIR NET life science coaching can actually help you quite a lot in your preparation. You may not have understood every part o the syllabus when you attended the classes in college or you may have lost touch or even have doubts. A coaching class can make all the concepts very clear to you. The exam is all about testing your understanding of the concepts and so it is better to not take any risks in this area.

3. Strategies:
How you study is as important as where you study from or who teaches you. Start with subjects like Cell Biology and Molecular Biology. They are the most fundamental to all life sciences topics and you should definitely be clear in this area. The next step is to concentrate on those subjects that belong to your core area. It will be easier for you to study these. By this time you would have covered most of the syllabus and you will only have a little left. Even if what is left is unfamiliar, the confidence you got from completing the majority of the syllabus will boost your confidence and get through this part. You also need to spend some time on the syllabus for Part A and B.

4. Organize:
You need to be well-organized in your preparation. Otherwise, there is a chance that you will get overwhelmed by everything that you need to study and panic. Have a clear game plan. Say that you will complete the whole syllabus by a particular time and set a plan to do it. All the topics are familiar to you so you can easily estimate how long you need to spend on them. Plan to leave yourself at least a month to revise and practice. Most classes that offer CSIR net coaching in Delhi for Life sciences will stick to this timeline and the last month is always left for revision and practice.

5. Take Mock Tests:
You have studied everything and you know the pattern. But you reach the exam hall and et overwhelmed by the test pattern and actually solving the questions within the given time and have to leave a lot of questions even though you know the answer. This situation is a nightmare for anyone preparing for CSIR NET exam. And how do you avoid it? Mock Tests! There are a plethora of mock tests available online. Your CSIR NET life science coaching class will also offer these mock tests. Attempting a few of these will help you understand how to approach the actual exam. After all, practice makes perfect!

The secret to clearing CSIR NET exam for life sciences is hard work and good preparation. A clear guidance from a class for CSIR net coaching in Delhi for Life sciences can go a long way in this journey.
