How to Become a Great Salesman

Hi there, how are you today? Compliments of the season.
It is the beginning of another business year and i believe that everyone of us wants to perform and earn better than we did last year.
For this to happen, we need to build and develop our skills as sales people.
Learning how to sell cannot be pushed aside without being a salesperson.
A sales person is a person who sells products or services to generate sales.
To be a great sales person is to know how to sell in an extra ordinary way and to be able to do this is to understand the concept of marketing and how it works. Not knowing the concept you are in, is going for disaster.
So, how do you become a great sales man?
I discovered 25 steps, some of which i will share here:
There are 5 MAJOR KEYS which are CONCEPTS that you need to know if you are to become a great salesman and under each are the steps. I will share 2 MAJOR KEYS of this concepts with their steps.
Concepts are designs by which an idea works. If it has no design it is NOT yet a concept. That is why i encouraged you to get my book on the CONCEPTS OF MARKETING at the beginning of this article. you need it.
These were and are the secrets that made men like William Anderson, Zig Ziglar and Brian Tracy and it is what i am following today myself and having results in my sales.

KEY 1: The Concept of Marketing


Step 1: Know the concept of marketing and how it works. Let my marketing book i told you of earlier help you. Don't waste time. GET IT NOW! and start off on a good sale. This is your time.
2. Know how to handle rejection and turn it into sales. Get my book, ’10 Steps in Turning Rejection into a Tool of Power in Marketing.’
3, Be a master persuader. This marketing book will help you immensely: '20 Secrets in Making Excellent Sales in Marketing.'
4. Be humorous and balance persuasion with charisma. Don’t frown your face, learn to smile, even when your client says ‘No’
5. Put the customer first. Learn to first build trust with your clients. People only follow whom they trust. Build your relationship skills.

Key 2: The Concept of Communication

Step 6. Learn how to communicate fluently and with precision.

7. Be an expert in your field.

8. Learn to empathize i.e. find out WHAT your customers really wants and

WHY they want it. This is you knowing your targeted AUDIENCE.

Understanding your customer’s desires and adopting them yourself will make you a great salesman and that is you putting them in your shoes as desiring the same thing. This is you knowing the detail needs of the people e.g. if a customer expressing interest in a particular item, ask, ‘What is it they like about it? Allow them to choose the product that they feel good about; getting to know your customer and their taste and uncovering their real motivation for buying will make you one.

9. Know to follow up. What do I mean? Go an extra mile. Write down the

names and contact info of your customers and follow up with a brief call or note or email to make sure they are 100% happy with their purchase,

10. Learn to dress well. Let your packaging be good. The way you are dressed is the way you will be addressed.
