The reason why is to understand and utilize the critical ability in your thinking which has enabled everything you have ever received! Once you have seen the "proof" for yourself you will be able to understand the fact that not only can you have anything you want, but that you always could have, regardless of your current circumstances!

Think about your dream house. Stand in front of it side by side with the person you care most about and admire it in your mind. Now understand this, those are also the feelings that "attract" that house to you!

Learning how to be happy means learning how to think productively. Get in the habit of thinking about what you want as though you already have it, as in the example above. The focus should be to generate the strongest emotions of happiness and gratitude possible. Then HOLD those feelings as long as you can. For many people it is extremely hard to even THINK of what they want that would make them happy because they are conditioned to the negative emotional whiplash of current reality. They have spent so much time feeling depressed, frustrated, and angry about not having the means to buy what they want, or the time to enjoy what they have, that they no longer invest the emotional energy on thinking about being happy. They are lost and for them life is cold, cruel, and empty. I have been there and chances are you have as well. It is a sad and hopeless state of mind and ENTIRELY unnecessary.
