What is hydroplaning?

How to avoid hydroplaning?

Tyre inflation: The manufacturer manual of tyres always mentions the correct tyre pressure you need to fill. Not maintaining this amount can either cause under-inflation or over-inflation. Both situations are extremely harmful to tyres. Over and under-inflated tyres become weak and wear unevenly. Premature tread wear is also common in such tyres. With no or very low tread depth, the tyres are unable to get rid of water coming their way. As a result hydroplaning occurs. A driver or vehicle owner should check the tyre pressure every week.

Tyre rotation: The process of tyre rotation should be regularly done. It is also done to ensure the tread doesn’t wear prematurely. The grooves and sipes of your tyres remain intact as long as the tyres are timely rotated.

Slow driving on wet roads: Wet roads are potentially vulnerable to hydroplaning. You are advised to drive within the speed limits during rain and on wet roads.

Avoid quick turns: Driving is a technique that requires mastery. Even experienced professionals do not necessarily make quick and sharp turns.

Aquaplaning can lead to major and serious problems. Tyres are designed to provide comfort. They need to be maintained well so dangerous and risky situations can be avoided.
