How To Apply Lipstick - Step By Step Guide

by Leena Joseph Beauty Queen

No makeup is complete without a pout color. Lipstick has been a makeup staple for years. Favorite colors and patterns change as situations change, but a clean and precise lipstick application is essential to any makeup success. Although lipstick is the most commonly used makeup product, there are still some people who do not know the correct way to apply lipstick and one of the most frequently asked makeup questions is "How to apply lipstick?"

If you've always wondered how to apply lipstick perfectly without smudging or getting any on your teeth, we've got you covered! Read on for a step-by-step guide on how to apply lipstick.

1. Prepare Your Lips

While most people are on top of their skincare game, they neglect their lips. When learning how to apply lipstick, preparing your lips should always be the first step. Lip care is as important as skin care because it helps keep your lips soft and nourished and prevents them from cracking or cracking. Dry lips are the worst lipstick statement! Lips will start to stick to your dry patches, chapped, or chapped lines.

Clean your lips with a damp toothbrush. Remember to be very gentle because the skin on your lips is thin and delicate. You can also use a simple lip balm available in the market. After cleansing, moisturize your lips and moisturize your lips.

2. Prepare The Foundation

Use a light concealer or foundation that matches your skin tone and apply it to your lips. This works as a primer and fills in any cracks you have on your lips, softens your lipstick, even the foundation so it doesn't set into fine lines. This step is optional but works best if your lips have hyperpigmentation or uneven color. This quick hack also prevents your lips from bleeding or smudging outside your lip lines.

3. Lip Liner

Using a lip liner to define your lips gives your lips shape and definition and helps you apply lipstick more effectively. Add your natural lip line with one of these three lip colors –

- Colorless lip liner that shows off, perfect for nude or light, pastel lipstick

- A lip color that matches your lip color

- A lip liner that matches your lipstick color - usually used

Start at your Cupid's bow (the small "V" in the middle of your upper lip) and draw an X on it to better define your Cupid's bow. Follow the lip line and work your way to the edge of the lip. You can apply more color inside the lips or fill in all your lips with a lip liner. To create well-defined lips and make your lipstick last longer, try lafz lipstick. The creamy formula of Color Sensational Lip Pencil makes it easy to define the shape of your lips and emphasize them. Did you know that you can also use liquid lipstick to make your lips stand out? Liquid lipstick powder is great when you don't have a separate lip liner on hand. Just line your lips with a precise tip afterward!

4. Apply Your Lipstick

Here's what you've been thinking, how to apply lipstick like a pro! Start with your favorite lipstick formula and shade. If you are looking for matte lipstick that is soft and shiny on your lips, try Lafz Matte Lipsticks. These lipsticks are infused with shea butter and give you a clean and healthy lip color with soft and smooth lips. If liquid matte lips are your style, go for Lafz Halal Lipstick. With the lipstick of your choice, start by applying the lipstick to the center of your upper lip, just below the cupid's bow. You can apply the lipstick directly from the tube or applicator if you are using liquid lipstick, or use a lip brush for a more precise application. If you are a beginner, we recommend that you discard the lipstick brush and apply the product directly. Now, apply lipstick on your upper lip from the center to both sides, until the entire lip is covered. Repeat the same process on the bottom lip, starting from the center and working towards the corners. Avoid using lipstick that goes over your lips too often, as this can cause the product to build up and make your lips look cakey. Many lip products can also cause lipstick to crack or bleed on the outside of your lips.
