How to Add a Sidebar to WordPress Theme

In a simple every wordpress themes employ a single sidebar. We know that wordpress is a open architecture so you can more that one sidebar in your wordpress theme. Also It is not restricted to use only sidebar area, you can put your sidebar any area in your theme such as footer, header or others place where you want. Finally you can place any wordpress widget like Recent post, Pages, Tag cloud, Calender etc in sidebar. In this article i we will see How to Add a Sidebar to WordPress Theme.

We need to follow these steps to add sidebar to WordPress Theme :

First we need to register sidebar in functions.php file.
Call the sidebar to sidebar.php file with sidebar id.
Call this sidebar to theme index.php file or any other pages where we want to add.
