How Many Ways Can You Use Tomato Garlic & Chilli Pasta Sauce? Let’s Find Out!

by Marta Jordan Writer
Pasta sauce is an incredibly versatile ingredient and is a staple of many pantries across the country. A wide range of nutritious weeknight meals can be whipped up using a humble jar of tomato garlic & chilli pasta sauce, meals so delicious that your family will be begging for more!

The humble pasta sauce has a long and rich history, dating back to the late 1700s. The first mention of a tomato-based sauce being combined with pasta appeared in an Italian cookbook ‘L’Apicio moderno’ written by Roman chef Francesco Leonardi, a food writer who was also personal chef to Empress Catherine II of Russia.

Since then, a wide variety of tomato sauces — from marinara to amatriciana — have been developed by chefs across the world. Today, pasta is enjoyed everywhere from Australia to Tunisia and pasta sauce has found its place in an equally extensive variety of recipes.

While you can cook pasta sauce from scratch, the quality of commercial pasta sauces today is so good that picking a jar up at the supermarket is a far easier and more economical option — particularly when it gets to the end of a long, hard day and the last thing you feel like doing is attempting a complex, multi-step recipe.

If you are struggling to come up with a nutritious meal that will please the whole family, try these delicious recipes — all featuring a jar of tomato garlic & chilli pasta sauce as the hero ingredient.
