How is Erectile Dysfunction Cased and How to Cure it

by James Hill Health Expert cum Content Writer

Millions of men across the globe are a victim of erectile dysfunction or impotence. It can be frustrating for a man since it prevents him from having a satisfactory sexual experience each time. Erectile dysfunction is a terrible condition but it is not a disease in itself. ED, in fact, is a symptom or side effect of a larger health issue. It can emerge from a wide variety of factors and the causes can be emotional, physical or both.

Reduced blood flow into the penis is the most prominent cause of male impotence. Conditions like atherosclerosis or hardening of arteries, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels that lead to plaque buildup in the arteries restrict the blood flow to the penis. Proper functioning of the heart is important for proper blood circulation throughout the body, including the penis. Therefore, most men who have heart diseases experience erectile dysfunction.

There are quite a few diseases that can result in weak erection. Some of them include diabetes, disorder of the nervous system, prostate cancer, spinal cord injuries, bladder surgery, kidney and liver diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, etc. Diabetes is a huge concern since approximately 60% of all diabetic men experience impotence.

In addition to physical health conditions, emotional or psychological issues often lead to erectile dysfunction. Stress and depression are two such issues that lead to impotence. Erectile dysfunction in young men is mostly a result of performance anxiety and nervousness before the sexual intercourse. Other factors like lack of interest in the partner and relationship problems also lead to weak erections.

Lifestyle issues, to a certain extent, are responsible for erectile dysfunction. Smoking cigarettes and alcoholism are to such issues. Nicotine that is present in cigarettes restricts the blood flow to the pension by building plaque in the arteries. Not only this, it also lower the sperm count and damages your sperm. Alcohol is not an issue if consumed under moderation, but excess of it affect the nervous system and your ability to get a firm and long lasting erection.

To cure erectile dysfunction, you should first consult a doctor and seek his advice. He would examine you and suggest a cure. The best way to treat ED is to use oral drugs such as Generic Viagra and live a healthy lifestyle.
