However, there are times when we simply switch computers and would like to transfer MS Office over. Depending on the kind of license you have, there are different ways to transfer Microsoft Office to another computer.

In this post, I will examine two commonly encountered situations in order to explain how to do it.

How do I transfer my Office 365 license to another user?

The first method is to transfer Microsoft Office to another computer with an Office 365 subscription.

In the case of a Microsoft Office subscription, the subscription would have been linked to your account. We can move our Office suite from one system to another using this smarter approach.

In order to activate your Office 365 subscription, you must deactivate your subscription from your first computer, then install it on your new computer. Using an Office 365 subscription, you can transfer Microsoft Office to another computer in a step-by-step fashion.

Step1- The first step is to deactivate your old computer's subscription

We first need to unlink your previous computer from your Office 365 subscription. To do this, go to the Microsoft Office website and log in.

You can deactivate MS Office on your system by visiting the "My Account" section from the top of the page (by exploring its more options).

Your first computer can then be uninstalled by going to Control Panel > Add or Remove a Program.

Step2- Install MS Office on your new computer in step 2

The first step in transferring Microsoft Office to another computer is to download its installer. To do so, go to its website on your new computer, go to your Microsoft Account > Install, and download the file.

Start the installer and follow the steps to install MS Office on your computer. Sign in to the same Microsoft Office account that was previously linked to your computer.

Step3- The third step is to authenticate your Office 365 subscription

In order to complete the setup, you will need to enter your product key. If you don't remember your product key, you can view it by going to your Microsoft Account > Services & Subscriptions.

To complete the installation, simply enter this product key while installing MS Office on your new computer. This will authenticate the software so you can use it without any problems.
