Home improvement grants are available repairs, renovations, and make homes more safe

Home improvement grants are provided by federal government and state governments and local agencies to help offset home upgrade costs for the people who need them. Grant money worth $22,036 was provided by SHA program in the fiscal year 2023.


Grants for veterans and Native Americans


Temporary Residence Adaptation (TRA) grants are provided by the US Department of Veteran Affairs to those disabled veterans who don’t own the home they are living in. To qualify for this grant, you must be living in family member’s home that needs changes to meet your needs. Home improvement grants are also available to people with disabilities to make their home more accessible, like widening doorways, adapting bathrooms, and installing wheelchair ramps. The grant money is given based on their income, age, and veteran status. Housing Improvement Program (HIP) is designed for Native Americans to assist them with home repair and renovation.
