Hitchcock heroines a guest post

Last week I was lucky enough to attend the Harvey Nichols autumn/winter 2012 preview at their Dundrum Town Centre store. On my way up I was quite nervous as it was my first show and I kept to myself as I wasn't sure who or what to expect, but there was a lovely welcoming atmosphere from the moment I walked in.

The Champagne reception was fantastic, with beautiful music from Sean Boland, and the opportunity to get a taste of what was going to feature in the show was a lovely kick-off, especially for me I love touching clothes as a way of judging the material and quality of the clothes, something I learned from my mother and stick by it today.

She always says a garment feel adds to its quality and authenticity, and I was especially excited to see what more high-end clothes would be like in person.

Styled by Sarah Rickard, the theme of the show was Hitchcock Heroine, portrayed beautifully, with hair and make-up kept minimal and elegant.

There was a great emphasis on the classic tailoring and silhouette of the clothes from designers including Max Mara and G茅rard Darel.

The opening of the show was very elegant and simple. Each model wore fabulous hats by designer Edel Ramberg and knee-length minis dresses and very cute mid heels a sign of the end of the platform era, some might be delighted to hear.

It was evident mixing fabrics was an effective way of layering this season with the mix of tweed, leather and wool in the show. Knee-high riding boots seem to still be a style statement paired with dresses and skirts from Snapback Wholesale McQ, and a few with some simple leggings for Wholesale Authentic NFL Jerseys a more casual look.

I loved the emphasis put on upcoming designers like Jovani and Jeffrey Campbell in the show. I always saw Jeffrey Campbell in particular as brand that was for the typical fashionista, mostly because of the crazy styles some of the shoes are Wholesale Authentic NFL Jerseys available in.

The woman beside me wasn't quite sure how to react when the heelless Nightwalk style came out.

I think the fact Harvey Nichols is stocking Jeffrey Campbell shoes shoes the diversity of the brand from an online brand to shops like Office, Arnotts and Harvey Nichols, and at their price point, there's no reason for them not to grow in popularity.

My favourite segment of the show was the last one that had all the glamour and sequins that makes Jovani so well known today new era hats in Ireland today. The dresses were a beautiful way to end the show there's not much I can say about them, but that you have to see them to judge for yourself. And undoubtedly you'll find one or 20 pieces you'll absolutely love, especially come up to Christmas and New Year!
