It was expressed that the tourism is an accelerator, as far as these islands are concerned, to the economic growth. The number of tourists both Indian and Foreign to these islands has also been increasing. There has been, an attempt to study the growth of tourism in Andaman and Nicobar Island, by taking the number of tourists' arrival every year during the plan periods and by taking the total amount of investment made by the Andaman and Nicobar Island Administration on the infrastructural facilities necessary for tourism industry.

In the recent times various airlines have increased their connectivity to the islands , Airline tickets which used to be costing upto Rs, 40000 for a return fare have come down to Rs.15000-18000 , also the number of resorts and hotels have increased and boosted the tourism inflow to the islands .
