Get Your Family Camping Storage Box Ready

by David Mickel Educational Management

Is all your Camping Storage Box? If not, keep reading because I've put together a quick guide to get you set up. Well, you chose the civilized way of car camping and not jungle safari, so let's be smart with family Camping Storage Box. The less stuff you take, the easier your trip will be. On the other hand, you will need some basic equipment, so let's get started.

I like to start with the sleeping arrangements. Just because you're not staying in a hotel doesn't mean you have to sacrifice comfort. In fact, I sleep better camping than I do in any hotel because I'm very comfortably equipped. It is true that we sleep better in our own beds than in a hotel bed.

I like to start with the family tent. The tent in its basic form should not be heavy. Displaying should be easy with just one person, and it should also be waterproof. It's not rocket science. I always prefer a 3 seasons tent because it meets all the requirements I just mentioned. Unless you're planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, stay away from your technical trekking gear. When it comes to Camping Storage Box for my family, I love the simple vaulted tents offered by Eureka, REI, and other quality manufacturers. It's big enough that you don't have claustrophobia!

When I talk about sleep, I always use either a self-inflating sleeping pillow like Therm-A-Rest or an inflatable air mattress. Both are very comfortable. Don't try to sleep on the floor like John Wayne, because then you will never feel rested. I carry an electric air mattress pump that plugs into a cigarette lighter. The mattress swells within a few minutes. Therm-A-Rest mattresses are self-inflating and require no pump. It is luxurious!

Choosing the right sleeping bag is really a matter of personal choice. I avoid heavy '60s cotton/flannel sleeping bags. The best lightweight, comfortable and compact rectangular sleeping bag. In my 40 years of camping, I've never slept in a wet sleeping bag, so don't tell me synthetic bags get warmer when wet. Just don't sleep outside in the rain! Remember, you will spend 30% of your camping trip in your sleeping bag. Buy a good one. My favorite sleeping bag is the LL Bean sleeping bag. They will last a lifetime and are guaranteed!

Well, we have all the sleep paraphernalia. What about other camping gear for the whole family? Think convenience and accessibility. We keep most of our equipment in clear plastic boxes. Put all dry foods in one container and the utensils in another. Keep flashlights, ropes, pumps, axes, and other utensils in one box. Chests can be pulled out almost instantly when you need them, and you don't have to search for your stuff! The Camping Storage Box you will bring for your family will be unique. Be simple.

A camping kitchen is an area that is just as important as sleeping gear. We all love to eat and will spend hours preparing delicious camping meals. I love the pots and pans that fit together. We carry a large pressure cooker that doubles to store pots and pans. It can cook at microwave speed. If you love soup and cowboy peppers, this appliance is a must! Our wok fryers are our secret weapon for preparing delicious meals. Works as a frying pan, soup bowl, and toaster oven. We cook all of our meals on the Coleman MSR Simmerlite Single Burner Stove. Both burn white gas and unleaded gasoline.

As for clothes, we travel light. We all wear ultra-light camping pants that are instantly washable and wear because they air dry in less than 10 minutes. We only take a couple of shirts, a few pairs of socks, and a down jacket to stay warm at night. down again? yes! It's lightweight and warm but not too hot and pressurized. Remember, you are camping, not a fashion show. You can wash your clothes daily if you need to, either by hand or at the sink.
