Flash Being Rebranded as Adobe Animate CC Now

by Alana Alex MediaLinkers Web Design Information

Adobe has been making a lot of changes to its CC applications. Yesterday Adobe announced that it Flash software is dead and it is repurposing it as Animate CC.  it is now offering a brand new solution for the web animation which would be more than familiar to the ones who use it in their designs.

The reason for the Flash failure was the lack of support on the iPhone and other gadgets by Apple. However, it was still used by the industry because of its animation, assets and code into an embedded package. The recent rise in the ad blockers, the repeated security issues and the ongoing mobile lack of support has caused the final failure of Flash.

The tool was going through an identity of crisis with Adobe branding it to the “Flash Professional” for distinguishing it from the Flash player and Builder. These names make absolute sense, with Flash being perceived as a toxic brand by both the designers and the business owners. The only surprise by the web design community was that this wasn’t broken by the Adobe earlier.

For the websites, Flash featured support for the WebGL and HTML5 canvas. The Animate CC continues to support the AIR and SWF formats. So now, there would be a series of new features added in the year 2016 such as:

·         SVG Export Animation

·         4K + Video Support

·         Art Vector Brushes

·         Colored Onion Skinning

·         Rotatable Canvas

·         Integration with Adobe Stock

·         Shared Libraries Integration

The graphic and web design community support to this news has been very positive. Adobe is surely trying to get its head on top of the animation and design industry in the web world. Let see what happens. Feel free to comment below or stay in touch with the latest piece of information at www.medialinkers.org.
