Finding the Right Chevrolet Dealership

by Kevin Smith Author

Finding the right new Chevrolet dealership in San Antonio, TX, is not a slam dunk activity. It requires some forethought and planning, along with understanding the customer service relationship being developed. Read more about some of the important items that should be considered in this process.

The Process

Car (or truck, or SUV, whatever) shopping, especially for a new vehicle, is one of those things that is often  exciting, perplexing, and exasperating all at the same time. Fortunately auto dealers realized this and the good ones have tried to make the process easier for everyone. While some things have been around forever, like manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP), the key word here is "suggested." MSRP is the starting point for discussions, not the end.

Additionally, dealers realized, along with their customers, that buying a new vehicle was the beginning of a potentially long and mutually beneficial relationship. Satisfied customers turn into a part of the sales team for the dealership. Well-serviced customers handled by a knowledgeable and courteous staff become repeat customers. Happy customers buying a new car are turning in, hopefully, a well-cared-for used vehicle, which is a valuable part of a dealer's activities.

Finally, the availability of information has given customers the knowledge of exactly what a vehicle costs, and even what the local market defines as a fair price. Coupled with the impact of social media, and the importance for the dealer of acting fairly and professionally, ratings are not the opinions of a few customers, but are compiled by third parties, and can number in the hundreds. It is not the case now where one party has so much more information, and therefore leverage, than the other.

The Outcome

What is now more likely the case is that, having done due diligence on the vehicles and decided on purchasing a Chevy, determining where to purchase it becomes the next big step. Combining reviews, a good long look at a web site, and yes, personal recommendations (still quite important), the process begins. This is also where the dealer can add a lot. Financing options (and monthly payments) are still one of the critical elements driving a customer's decision, along with special deals, dealer incentives, loyalty rebates, and similar offers.

Today's vehicles are built better than they have ever been, so since you may own it for 10 years, choose a new Chevrolet dealership in San Antonio, TX, wisely.
