Facts About The Month Of Safar, Safar is the second of the twelve Islamic months. It comes after Muharram. It is one of the four months that Allah has declared as sacred months. As the Holy Quran says: –

“Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred (i.e. the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islamic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein…” (9:36)

Facts About The Month Of Safar is so called because it was during this month that the Arabs emptied Makkah and traveled during this month. Another school of thought says that the name is derived from the fact that the Arabs used to engage in wars with other tribes during this month.
