by Architeca Design Build Firm Design Build Firm

Interior designing is not just selecting designs and decorating your house. It is a complete study of your house plan and choosing what suits your house plan better along with assuring your safety. Doing it by yourself or with those who don’t have much knowledge might end up in a mess. A flawless fusion of concepts, furniture & fittings, colour schemes, and textures meets the goal. All our desires might not suit in case of renovation but experts will definitely have alternative ideas. But doing it without the consultation of field specialists will be a risky move to take. By examining in detail, and gaining the required knowledge and idea,  consulting a specialist can prevent you from spending your savings.

If your eyes caught this post late or if you are in search of ideas or if you are just reading, try to compare the points in this blog and try to avoid these common mistakes in interior design.  The skilled team of Architeca Design Build Firm has shared their experience as advice for you to avoid those.

Avoiding focal points

A simple focal point will make a big difference in the whole look of a room. There will be a  minute detail in every product. Showcasing it properly and getting the advantage from it, is in our hands. Focal points show how well the designer has done the job. The focal point has to be placed prominently and it should draw attention and helps the eyes of a person to settle down on it and help them to drive them further comfortably. It is not necessary that it should be focused on and examined separately. Even a piece of furniture, an artwork, a mirror and so many other commonly used feature can serve the purpose. An architectural focal point gives special attention it doesn’t mean that these features don’t. It is your personal style which has to play the drama.

The wrong choice of colours used

The wrong choice of colours will not give a pleasant appearance to the room. It is better not to mix up the several colours and make them fight against each other. There is a wide range of colours to select from and it is advisable to choose the colour which matches your furniture. It is easier than buying furniture and fittings matching your wall colour. Work on the floor, large object, sofa, focal point and other small notes and at last select the wall colour.  Therefore selecting your favourite colour as a wall colour will not work all the time. The daylight will make the wall colour look differently from time to time. The same applies to

light fittings as well. Make a colour test both in natural light and electrical lighting and choose what suits you better. If the place is compact, better go with light tones.

Too many accessories

The way furniture is showcased and the layout impacts the design of any room. Placing furniture against the walls and on the edges are a few very common home interior design mistakes. If you really don’t have enough space, arranging the furniture can be exceptional.  Using vintage, heirloom and unique collections express your personal taste. It is not necessary to keep all of them. Any sentimental family heirlooms that have value can be updated according to your design and match the space. Don’t try to fit all in a place and create a messy atmosphere. Plan on space for people to move between the furniture. Make sure that too many furniture doesn’t make the place packed.

Ignoring space for wires

Electronics are unavoidable in the modern world. Though many wireless devices are invented, the usage of cords and wires is still in practice. It is not at all bothered while planning the design of the house. In a beautiful atmosphere, an ugly tangle of cords can be attracted more easily than the planned point of attraction. Therefore, be conscious of hiding the cords and wires, so they will not ruin the beautiful room. Nowadays there are so many pieces of furniture in the market with built-in plug points that help you in arranging them properly. If not paint the cords similar to wall colours, so it will be less noticeable. Let the position of the switchboards be close to the desired spot.

Improper planning

Don’t simply place the furniture and fitting in any room. Spend some time and design it. If not get the assistance of an interior designer. Interior designers might have thousands of ideas which make your place look elegant. Minute details do wonders in designing.  Budgeting is also an important plan to be included. Decide on what has to be bought or replaced. Not deciding on walls, appliances, furniture, light fittings, fixtures and textures,  brands and even size, or shape will make you regret it later. A half-completed or improper completion will be easily identified at a glance.
