Expertise in Ocean Front Construction and Intracoastal Home Building

by Aaron William Services on Demands
Home building on the oceanfront and direct Intracoastal Waterway requires specialized knowledge to achieve a home that is both beautiful and low maintenance.  The design of the home, selection of materials and construction techniques unique to this harsh salt air environment are typically learned by a general contractor over time.  The advantage of using a home building contractor experienced in ocean front home construction is incalculable relating to minimizing the future maintenance expense of the home.

Robelen Hanna Homes has achieved this unique ocean front home building expertise.  Having completed over $150 million dollars of ocean front and Intracoastal homes, their home building clients benefit from the accumulated expertise of the architects and engineers they have worked with on these previously completed projects and the general contracting experience they have gained through building these beautiful homes.

Of particular significance in their portfolio of completed projects is the  10,000 square foot home in Miami just completed for Robert Toll by Robert Hanna.  Robert Toll, founder and Chairman Toll Brothers, one of the largest luxury home builders in the country, selected Robert Hanna to build his home, recognizing Hanna’s unique combination of seasoned construction management skills and engineering background.

This house exemplifies many of the home design and home construction characteristics that distinguish Robelen Hanna Homes waterfront homes.  These include extended roof overhangs for better sun protection and rain protection, elimination of soffit vents and the use of Icynene insulation for increased air conditioning efficiency, solar tinted impact glass in all windows and doors and the design of ventilation corridors to enhance the use of natural ventilation in prime weather.

Having been certified general contractors for over twenty-five years in the State of Florida, both Robert Hanna and Craig Robelen have learned to evaluate every detail in the home design and home construction as to how it will react to the salt air and increased humidity of ocean front building.  Some of the items they insist on are using galvanized steel columns in the structure of the house, stainless steel nails in all exterior fascia and wood moldings, foam adhesive roof tile installation increasing its wind resistance in hurricane conditions, Thoroseal masonry wall waterproofing before the exterior walls have stucco applied and special Prosoco waterproofing membrane around all window and door openings prior to installation of the windows and doors.  The application of Prosoco waterproofing membrane over the window and door bucks which themselves have been caulked to the masonry openings then the caulking of the window frames when installed and thereafter a final caulk after stucco when the exterior is painted results in windows that are exceptionally waterproofed.

These features and many others which can be specified such as salt chlorine generators for swimming pools to eliminate the harsh health effects of chemical chlorine systems, natural gas tank-less hot water heaters for energy efficiency and hot water on demand and electronic air filtration systems bring the house to a higher quality level and lower operating cost than traditional construction practices.

Robelen Hanna Homes, a Boca Raton home building company applies these same standards in their home remodeling business Addition and Remodeling Specialists – RH Homes.

Robelen-Hanna Homes have 25 years of experience in the field of renovation contractors, remodeling contractors in boca raton, home builders and general contractors of palm beach county and Boca Raton, Florida.
