However, an accountant can select data within a particular range using the spacebar. To make use of this shortcut, hold Ctrl and Shift together and then press space bar to make the needed selection out of the whole table.


Important: The trio doesn’t work if your selected data is out of range. In order to use this shortcut, at least one of your cell must be within the range.


  1. Ctrl+Shift+Direction keys – Select Cells Quickly & Correctly

If you want to find and replace a window on the worksheet then, Ctrl+H will be of your use. It is very helpful for accountants who want the same set of data to create a sheet for new clients. In that case, Ctrl + H will copy entire worksheet and make a new worksheet of it.

Most of the times accountants find it difficult to take control over the whole spreadsheet and thus ends with improper reports. From shifting to multiple cells in the same worksheet to shifting entirely to the new worksheet, these shortcuts will help you in all.


  • CTRL + HOME – Move to the first cell (A1) of the worksheet

  • CTRL + END – Move to the last used cell on the worksheet

  • CTRL + Page Up – Switch to the left worksheet

  • CTRL + Pg Down – Switch to the right worksheet

  • ‘Alt + =’ - Autosum function can be done.

  • ‘Ctrl + F1’ -  Ribbon will minimize and you’ll get more space to work.

  • ‘F4’ - Toggle cell reference / repeat last action
