Employment To The Local People

Tourism helps the poor Nepalese to improve their livelihoods, but this will require concerted efforts and strategies that help establish strong linkages with the tourism sector. For example, there is scope to involve the poor in vegetable production in the field, as it is reported that there is an inadequate supply of vegetables from local areas. The scope also exists to provide more training to local people so that they are able to get better jobs in the industry. It can be said that tourism contributes to the local economy providing direct employment and indirectly by purchasing food and nonfood items from local producers.
