Effective Methods of Studying:

Flash Cards: These are really helpful in memorizing study material. It is even easier to handle. On one side of the card, write the word you want to learn and on the other side the definition. You memorize and try to recall the definition of the chosen word. You continue to do this until you master all the words and then to test whether you have really learnt it or not seek your parents help.

Folded Paper: It is quite similar to that of Flash Cards. In this method, one needs to fold a plain paper longitudinally and write down words to learn to the left and their meanings on the right column. Similarly, like in Flash card, one memorizes the words and then tests themselves and finally they get tested.

Homework Help: Effective Methods of Doing Homework

It is important to be organized before getting to study. It is important to list things according to the urgency of the matter. Each subject should have a separate folder, which will be divided in two parts, one where marked homework can be kept and the other, homework to be done. Study guide helps to some extent in effective studying but students must refrain asking teachers for guide after every lecture. Have a scheduled time dedicated only to studying. It may vary from student to student as when they think is ideal to study. Parents must help their kid(s) in making the schedule.

Homework

Parents can act as a source of constant encouragement when their kids are finishing an assignment or any homework. They can advise their children to have the work split in halves to do it effectively. Parents can provide their kids with rewards as they progress. Distractions such as the cell phone, the television noise or even slight music should be minimized as much as possible. Parents must also ensure that kids do their own work. Parents can help them but must refrain from doing the homework at any cost simple because that will make the kids dependent and somewhat lazy.

If kids are still facing problems finishing their homework or having difficulties reading their course material, it is advised to contact the respective teacher(s) of the subject(s). The teacher who observes the kid in school might be in a better position to suggest ways to help the kid make progress. Parents must also be able to set a good example to their kids while it comes to balancing between work and leisure.
