What are SkillsFuture Programmes?

The SkillsFuture Programme is an initiative to offer a wide range of short and modular industry-relevant training programmes in different emerging skill areas to upskill the workforce in Singapore. Singaporeans, 25 years old and above, can receive SkillsFuture Credit of S$500 to pay for professional courses.

SkillsFuture programmes are tiered across three proficiency levels - basic, intermediate and advanced. The basic level of the Entrepreneurship Programme covers basic knowledge and application, and is catered to new adult learners who lack prior knowledge in entrepreneurship. The intermediate level is for those who have existing working experience and knowledge in business, and it covers a more multifaceted level of the skill set. The advanced level covers topics at a more complex and specialised level, and is open to qualified and experienced businesspersons who want to enhance their skills in entrepreneurship.

What Do Entrepreneurship Courses Offer?

Entrepreneur courses are designed to help participants develop a strong entrepreneurial mindset. Participants will get the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams and gain insights from working on case studies to develop their business skills and apply them in future when running their own business.

The course also introduces participants to the socio-economic environment where they can learn the different concepts of business model canvas, lean start-up methodology and disruptive innovation.

The course outlines the concept of design thinking for business. Participants can equip themselves with the knowledge to design and build prototypes that will allow stakeholders to understand the usability and feasibility of the product concept. They will also learn the importance of financial management and how to pitch a business idea to investors and customers.

The course topics include:

The course is an e-learning course that is conducted over 60 hours (or 15 sessions). There will also be mandatory one-hour face-to-face mentoring sessions so participants can seek further guidance and learn from the experienced trainers.

Eligibility Criteria

Working professionals who have a keen interest and passion in entrepreneurship can enrol in this course. If you have coding skills, it will be an added advantage, although it is not mandatory.
