Create Innovative Black and White Feathers Wedding Themes

Planning and organising a wedding day is a huge undertaking. In many ways, the bulk of the work is based around practical considerations – how many guests, how much per head on the meal, where to hold the reception and so on. Over and above these fairly dry, technical, practical considerations, there are the issues which revolve around questions of style, and exactly what your wedding is going to look like.

Coming up with an original and effective look for your wedding day is often extremely difficult. On the one hand, most people wish to embrace a degree of tradition, opting for things such as a long white wedding dress, old fashioned traditional furnishing in the reception room and a bouquet made up of roses and other traditional flowers. Thinking of all of this, however, many people soon come to realise that their special day is going to look just the same as any number of other special days. Bearing this in mind, they seek to inject a little individuality into the day, whilst still retaining that all important aura of class and timelessness. One of the easiest and most effective ways of doing this is by utilising the increasingly popular style signature of feathers.

The fact that feathers are entirely natural and yet still fairly unusual means that they can effortlessly bridge the gap between quirky originality and classic tradition. Using large feathers boas, for example, to decorate the walls of the building in which you hold the reception will be breathtakingly different without seeming to strain self-consciously to be so. The message such a move will instantly convey to your guests is that this is a wedding which isn’t just going to be run of the mill and predictable.

Having decided to take the plunge and use feathers as a signifier that your wedding is dazzlingly original, you can incorporate the theme into every single aspect of the day. Designing your own invitations is now pretty common, so why not decorate the stationery you use with images of luxury such as peacock feathers. As soon as guests see these on their invitation, they’ll be assured that they are going to attend an event which is opulent and lavish. After all, in nature, the peacock feathers is one of the most extravagant and eye catching forms of plumage there is, so why not take advantage of what nature has provided to give your wedding day that extra visual stimulus.

No wedding would be complete, of course, without a one off bespoke designer dress for the bride to wear. She’ll want to be able to look back at the pictures for years to come and remember a day when she really did dress and feel as if she was a princess.  Once again, the desire to stand out from the crowd has to be tempered by a realisation that anything too modish and high fashion will look distinctly old fashioned and gimmicky before too long has passed. Attaching an ostrich fringe to your dress will meet these requirements exactly, turning an ordinary dress into something different, without ruining a traditional dress by forcing it to be too shocking.

Getting the look and feel of your wedding just right is vital. You want to be able to enjoy the day itself safe in the knowledge that everything looks stunning, and you want to look back on it without anything too outrageous hitting a jarring note. Using feathers offers the perfect solution, lending a touch of class, style and innovation.
