Cooking rice with electric rice cooker

The taste of rice is eternal and you can confirm it with any rice lover. The whole world gave us their version of cooking rice to prepare wonderful recipes that people cannot stop licking their fingers. However the electronics have made life easier in kitchen for all the people. The taste of food cannot be underestimates as it provides us the immense joy of satisfaction to pleasure the sense of taste. Over period of time humanity have advanced from the stages of stone-age towards the ultimate science and art realm. Anyways we will quickly go through the basic procedure to cook the rice with electric rice cooker.

Before we start with the process first thing that you need to work upon is estimating the quantity that you will require. A rough idea would be that a 240ml of cup filled with uncooked rice would fetch you one and half cup of cooked rice. If you are trying to cook rice for the very first time then it would be start with less as the wastage would not be much if you happen to fail unfortunately. Then comes the cleaning part where you have to focus on the rinsing of the rice. Although the good quality rice may not need cleaning so it would be a smart idea to go through the cooking instruction on the packaging. Chances are if you are using the good Brand then you might not need to rinse the rice as they are already cleaned and now contain important nutrients such as folic acid, niacin and iron. On the other hand if you are wondering the worse then let me tell you that rice might contain impurities such as fertilizers and pesticides. The most important key to cook tasty rice is having good idea of how much water to put in the rice cooker. After you have soaked in the water, the cleaning part is done and you are ready to start the cooking process. Take some butter and mildly fry the rice quickly in a pan. Make sure the time is not much more than few minutes. The point is to bring in the aroma of butter in the rice. Then add water again to the rice in measured quantity. If you want to add some flavors then add cardamom or bay leaves. Then cook the rice for 15 minutes. Now the rice is boiled and ready for the further part. If you intent to eat rice with Daal or any other vegetable then probably you have ready to serve rice with a pinch of salt. The special part is if you want then you can actually prepare a mixed vegetable fried in the oil with onions and garlic. Well this is Indian innovation to make rice spicier and yummier. Now take the rice out of the cooker and take a frying pan. Add rice to the pan and then add the fried vegetable to the same. Mix the both components for about 5-10 minutes on mild flame. Do not forget to add butter before going for the final kill on the frying pan.
