Convert your Room into Sauna with Sauna Installation Plan
by Anu R. Scandia ManufacturingSauna is a room used for taking steam bath solely for the purpose of
perspiring. Sauna works wonders. It helps one look younger. It detoxifies one’s
body. Due to its anti-inflammatory property, it is very beneficial for the
person suffering from asthma. It improves the human body physically as well as
mentally and strengthens the immune system. One can easily convert his room
into sauna by following the steps of Sauna
Installation Plan listed below:
Wiring
The room should have a complete wiring for the supply of electricity
needed to light tube lights, bulbs and the power used to supply electricity to
the sauna heater. There should be complete control of the entire system outside
the sauna room also which ensures the safety of the sauna bathers. If you are
going for gas heaters, consider the thickness of the pipe and also know how
many appliances are sharing the gas line.
Insulation
The walls of the sauna should be insulated with R-11 insulation from the
inside and with R-19 from the outside. This step of insulation is very
important as the bather can easily relax inside the sauna room without any kind
of disturbance.
Use of Foil
A foil vapour barrier provides R-1 insulation and is used to cover
almost the entire interior structure, mainly the walls and the ceiling. A
vapour barrier prevents the absorption of vapours by the walls.
Cedar
Panelling
Cedar is easy to work with and can be cut without any difficulty. Cover
your insulated walls and ceiling with cedar which lowers the excess humidity
inside the sauna room and is resistant to fluctuating higher and lower heat
levels.
Positioning
the Sauna Heater
The benches used for the sauna room are created in such a way so as to
conveniently hide the sauna heaters leaving the maximum space possible at the
disposal of the bathers. Some secure the sauna heater to the wall as well.
Addition of
rocks to the Sauna Heater
It is recommended to wash sauna heater rocks before you add the rocks to
the heater. The stones might contain some dust which when heated will release
an unpleasant smell. If the rocks are washed and clean, you are ready to the
place the rocks inside the heater. It is imperative to place the sauna rocks
behind the heater or the heater will falsely indicate that the room has reached
the required temperature prematurely.
Location of
Sauna Benches
The sauna benches can be arranged in a variety of ways. The benches are
preferably placed at a corner so that there is enough space for the bathers
inside the sauna room. The benches usually used are 18” or even deeper than
that.
Structure of
Sauna door
A sauna door is preferred to be an all glass door. A transparent glass
door helps in keeping a check on the activities of the bathers. Thus, it
ensures the safety of the bathers. A glass door is also resistant to the
changes or fluctuations in the temperature and the humidity taking place inside
the sauna door.
