Common Tyre Myths Busted

by Gary B. Business Owner
Car tyres are touted to be the most important component of your car, responsible for the proper functioning of this mean machine. It is but natural that people have their own set of assumptions on car tyres since this element is of utmost important. Assumptions on car tyres also lead to having a few myths attached to it. Hence, it is important that you break free from these myths so that you can focus on the proper working of the tyres. You can always rely on your tyre retailers to give you the right guidance and help you to break free from these myths.

Common Car Tyre Myths You need to Break Away from

Front Tyre Replacement is More Important that the Rear Tyres - This is one big myth that majority of the people believe in. The sooner you can come out of this misconception, the better will it be for you and most importantly for your car. It is true that the front tyres provide a bulk stability to your car, but when stuck in a wet field, it is the rear set of tyres that help in maintaining balance. So you cannot afford to neglect the support of your rear tyres.

Tyres That Remain Unused Don’t Degrade - It is again another myth that should be wiped clean. tyres are different depending upon their brand and you should always follow the instructions provided by the tyre retailers and the manufacturers because they know their products best. The fact remains that tyres can degrade even if the vehicle has not been driven as is the case, when your vehicle has remained idle for a long time.

The More You Pump Your tyres, Higher the Chances of it Bursting - It essentially depends on the quality of the tyre. This situation is slightly tricky because in many cases, even if the tyre has been pumped way past the sidewall, the tyre remained in good working condition. Whereas in several other cases, the tyre burst even when it was pumped slightly more than the specified limit. In such cases, always check with the manufacturers because good quality tyre manufacturing can withstand extra pumping of the tyre beyond the set limit.

Cheap Tyres are Good Enough - It is true that cheap tyres do meet the minimum legal requirements but they are not at all long lasting and does not guarantee quality service to your car. A tyre, that is low on quality and durability, tends to have an adverse impact on your car as well.

So next time, you know which assumptions regarding car tyres to believe in and which ones to discard.
