Christian Mystery Meets Aliens?! New Novel Sheds Fresh Light On Old Themes

by PRC Agency PR

West Texas is a UFO hotspot - and Christian author Betty Johansen, West Texas born and raised, takes a solid plunge into alien connections with her latest novel, Lilli’s Song - while continuing to explore the themes her readers loved in Hawaiian Wildflower, her third novel.

Lilli's Song

Set in the fictional town of Skyport, Texas, Lilli’s Song is the unputdownable story of the mysterious disappearance of 14-year-old Lilli Park. The small community is shocked by the event, with two very different explanations emerging: Lilli might have fallen victim to a predator - but with Skyport seeing intense UFO activity, some believe that the kind, caring, intelligent girl was abducted by aliens looking for a prime human specimen to study in their faraway labs.

With readers praising the novel for its drama and mystery, Lilli’s Song has been well received on Amazon - and will be an engaging read to fans of Christian mysteries.

The Darkness Duology

Betty's work also includes the Darkness Under His Feet and Out of Darkness duology - two Christian mysteries written after the author’s experience with charismatic doctrine and her realization of their unscriptural nature.

Hawaiian Wildflower

Lilli’s Song, however, is thematically a closer successor to Hawaiian Wildflower, the author’s third novel - a story of love, betrayal, and hidden darkness within. In the Wildflower Betty follows Dillon, a happily married accountant, as he unravels the complicated, dark past of Maylea Kanaka - a mysterious, extremely beautiful woman who insinuates herself into his life.

The conceptual opposite of the protagonist in Hawaiian Wildflower, Lilli is a pure, gentle soul who couldn’t have been more different from the scheming, fatally seductive Maylea.

Lilli’s Song completes the thematic arc opened more than a decade ago, and offers new perspectives on the eternal fight between good and evil.

(And if there are any aliens in it, they're there for a reason!)

Betty's Story & Writing

A West Texas native herself, Betty pursued her passion for writing following a fulfilling career as a science teacher.

“My stories fit most closely into the category of cozy mysteries, which means they are free of filthy language, pornographic scenes, and gratuitous gore,” said Betty. “In other words, I write the kind of stories I like to read. I hope you like them too!”
