In addition, the process of retreat of troops on both the northern and southern coasts of The Pangong Lake is expected to be completed by February 20.

In addition, the Indian Army team along with the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) team will physically verify and re-verify the process of retreat of troops on the Pangong Lake.

"It will be a joint inspection team on behalf of both the Indian Army and the Chinese PLA," a senior government official said. "

The official further said that the Indian Army teams will use drones as well as high-resolution cameras to check the troops and monitor and record the process of removal of military bases. The teams will oversee the process of removal of military bases set up by Chinese troops, especially near the Pangong Lake.

In addition to building a military outpost in finger 7 area on the Chinese side, long range firepower guns were also deployed. Bunkers were constructed in the area and permanent structures were also constructed for the stay of thousands of People's Liberation Army soldiers.

"We will physically verify whether everything has been removed from the locality or not," the official said. We will go to Finger 8 to check whether the process of retreat is going on as per the consent conditions. "

The agreement says that the Chinese soldiers will go back to finger 8 and the Indian Army will return to dhan Singh Thapa's post between Finger 2 and 3 of the north coast of The Pangong Lake. In addition, there will be a temporary moratorium on military activities, including patrolling in traditional areas.

The shape of the mountain along the Pangong Lake is something like that it looks like fingers. That is why they are called finger. The number is eight. While India claims to be its territory up to finger 8, China has created a dispute by claiming up to finger 4. On the northern coast of The Pangong Lake, the two armies have been confronted several times in a distance of eight kilometres between finger 4 and finger 8.

China had deployed a lot of its jawans and other equipment south of Finger 4 and Pangong Lake to change the status quo on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Last year, due to tension, China had deployed boats ahead of finger 8 in the lake. Once the forces go back, the patrolling will resume only after the diplomatic and military negotiations are agreed upon.

In the south of the Pangong Lake, where the armies of the two countries were facing a very face-off, the armies have also begun to retreat. At some places, the tanks of both the countries were only 100 metres away.

It is noteworthy that the LAC has been a military standoff between the two countries for nearly ten months. The confrontation on the north coast of The Pangong Lake began when Chinese troops tried to change the status quo by infiltrating inside the lake and on the coast in May last year. Gradually it spread to confrontation and areas. On the southern coast of the lake, India had strengthened its strategic position on the hills as compared to China.

However, the two countries have now begun the process of retreat of troops from the deadlocked places, which is showing an end to the deadlock.
