What’s New In Exam 2018
The slight difference between the previous Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and GATE Exam 2018 is they are no longer restricted to India but will also be organized in six other countries namely Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates (U.A.E). Yearly, approximately 10 lakh students appear for the examination, making it the next most competitive exam in the nation in terms of number of students taking the examination, with the first being the IIT-JEE entrance test.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is not a comparatively latest one and the GATE has been used as a tool for admitting students to Masters Degree courses in engineering from 1984. From 2012, the test has also been used by the Public Sector Units in their recruitment process and the number of PSUs using the GATE score has progressively augmented over the years and last year GATE score was used by around 40+ PSU in recruitment process. As per recent updates, we get the information that GATE score was also used for recruitment of positions in the Cabinet Secretariat in the Government of India.
Vital Information
GATE Exam is containing two sections with a total of 65 questions for 100 marks for three hours. In general, the questions for the examination are from three different subjects such as general aptitude which is covering 15 marks in the test, engineering mathematics normally for around 10-13 marks of the test and the rest of the marks in the test will be from the core engineering area of the applicants.
The questions paper will be of both multiple choice type and fill in the blanks type even as the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) have negative markings for incorrect answers, the numerical fill in the blanks type questions do not have any harmful marking scheme. Intersted ones must apply for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2018 and take admission in relevant course of engineering / recruit in Public Sector Units
