CAT entrance exam for MBA

MBA (Master of Business Administration) is one of the most important post graduate degree level study. It is a 2 year, regular and full time course. The various major entrance exams for this degree are cat 2012 and mat 2012. The cat exam is administered by the IIIM (Indian Institute of Management) at Ahmadabad branch. The mat exam is administered by AIMS (All India Management Studies), located at Delhi. These two management entrance exam, are national based and are conducted in almost all the major towns and cities of India. In order to appear for the management entrance exams, the candidate must be a graduate in any discipline, from a recognized university.

The written exams of cat and mat are mostly conducted on holidays. The entire question paper pattern is multiple choice question type. Thus, there is a negative marking for each wrong answer. Thus, the candidates should be very careful while attempting the question paper. The various sections of the written test are English, logical reasoning, aptitude test, mathematics, general awareness etc. All the sections must be studied with equal importance. Much emphasis is given on the English and general awareness parts of the question paper. Te candidates may prepare from the previous years' solved question banks of cat and mat entrance exams. Thus, they can get an idea about the question paper pattern of these written management entrance exams.

IIM, the most reputed management institute of India admits through cat entrance exam. Other than IIMs most of the top b-schools of India admit through the cat exam. The cat question papers are quite tough and highly competitive. The candidates should study very hard, in order to qualify the cat exam. The candidates are called for their interviews, who qualify the written exam of cat; they are called based on their percentile in the written cat exams. The candidates, who qualify the written cat and mat exams, are called for the final group discussion GD and personal interview PI round. Final candidate selection is done based on their performances in the GD and PI rounds.

The candidates who will qualify the cat 2012 and mat 2012, written exams, will be called for GD and PI rounds of selection in various reputed b-schools of India. Candidates having good percentile in cat and mat written exams, will be given preference for the top MBA institutes of India.
