Canelo-GGG: Canelo has rematch clause, but Champion does not

Gennady Golovkin, the middleweight king is preparing his on his toughest fight yet against the Mexican star Canelo Alvarez, but he doesn’t have a rematch clause.

However, it has been revealed that Canelo will have a rematch clause and is no contractual obligation to give GGG a redo. Can Alvarez defeat the undefeated champion?

Normally, the champion has the rights to dictate the terms of the contract, and the one who inserts option of a rematch.

It is not the norm that the challenger will have the right to be granted by such agreeable terms and Canelo heads into the super-fight knowing he wins, he can also avoid the rematch.

GGG is confident that he will defeat the Mexican star, despite the fact that if he will be defeated in the fight, will end up chasing him for a rematch.

That is what Golden Boy promotions has purely outsmarted GGG’s team.

Alvarez becomes the underdog of the fight. GGG has a professional win of 37 and 33 knockouts out of all his wins.

But Canelo is confident that GGG is already getting old as he observed his last fight with Daniel Jacobs in March. It was the first time since 2008 that GGG has failed to knock his opponents before the end of the fight.

Alvarez was glad when their fight between him and GGG was announced that they would have their face off in September.

The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada where Canelo is a regular visitor, but surprisingly, it would be GGG’s first time to land and fight in the City.

GGG has won in America for ten times, but those bouts have been in New York, California, and Connecticut.

The fight with Canelo and GGG is highly anticipated, so fans will never regret watching it despite the cost, PPV or for a ticket.
