British Columbia PNP Invites 284 Candidates in Its Latest Immigration Draw

In the fourth week of January 2020, the province of British Columbia issued 284 invitations through its British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program. The draw was held on January 28, 2020, focusing on awarding invitation to skilled workers and international graduates through five British Columbia PNP streams. The invitations were issued to candidates who meet the basic eligibility criteria as well as demonstrate sufficient work experience in one of the targeted occupations listed on BC skilled occupation list. 


Skilled workers who directly applied through the provincial stream required 100 scores, whereas Express Entry candidates needed 110 points to qualify. 


For international graduates who directly applied, the minimum qualifying scores were 103, whereas graduates who applied through the Express Entry-link stream required 105 points to qualify.


Entry-level and semi-skilled overseas workers needed 85 points to get the invitation.

Health Care Professional Category:  The category is aimed at attracting healthcare professional who have a job offer and considerable experience in the healthcare sector. The stream is designed for physicians, nurses, and other medical experts. 


International Post-Graduate (BC Degree): For students who have completed their graduated or post-graduation at a legitimate college/university/ institution in British Columbia only.


International Graduate (Canadian Degree): created for international students who have completed their graduation or post-graduation from an eligible Canadian educational institution in last two years.


Entry level and Semi-skilled Worker Category: the stream is for semi-skilled or entry level professionals who want to work in hospitality/tourism, trucking industry, etc. 


Candidates who meet the Canada immigration eligibility criteria and demonstrate work experience aligning with Canada NOC list are invited to apply further. Applicants who also clear the ITA stage are awarded nominations from the provincial government, which further guarantees their selection and 600 additional points over their existing CRS scores.
