Wotan the Invincible

Wotan 3 is the first raid boss in Borderlands 3, which lies in the takedown on Maliwan for the final encounter. The raid bosses concept has been included in the Borderlands series to increase the difficulty level in the game. However, there are several phases in this game that can be used to lower down Wotan’s power. Start by damaging the Shield in each phase and then kill the weak Wotan in the last phase.

Required Gears and Level

Before proceeding to the ways to kill Wotan, you first need to fulfill these requirements written below:

Make sure to keep Vault hunter in the team with a level of 50 along with the fully-geared force that can help them to count down Wotan.
You must have a shock weapon to avoid shielding throughout the fight.
It will be more beneficial if you have a legendary weapon. Some of the prominent legendary weapons in the game are SMG. These weapons are named Cutsman and Brainstormer.

Conquering Wotan

As discussed above, there are four phases that need to be completed to knock down Wotan.

1. Phase

In this phase, Wotan is hiding at the back of a single shield; after it is damaged, the game will proceed automatically to the next level. The two most prominent abilities that Wotan uses in every phase to tackle you are Laser shots and Missile Barrage. You need to jump, move, defend yourself from these attacks. After some time, you will notice that the Shield is up; this is the time to hurt Wotan. Use the gaps beneath the Shield and shoot shock weapon to counter Wotan. This will weaken the Shield, and the game will eventually teleport you to the second phase.

2. Phase

In this phase of the game, Wotan will hide behind a rotating shield and various Valkyries. Your team needs to deal with the Valkyries first, then go for Wotan. The most occurred problem in this phase is that the Shield keeps on moving to defend Wotan from every single attack, the best resort to tackle down it keeps moving continuously while shooting with your team on the Shield. After the Shield is down, get ready to fight Wotan in Phase 3.

3. Phase

This is the last phase, which includes a shield for the Wotan in the game though Wotan uses two shields in this phase. First, you should enter the outer Shield and try damaging the inner Shield by vertically attacking it. This seems easy, but Wotan will not let you feel you the same as it will dodge you by giving orders to two of its guards, Thor and Kraken. You can knock both of them easily by using any legendary weapon; after this, you will notice that the Shield is totally damaged, and Wotan has escaped to the next phase.

4. Phase

In this phase, Wotan divides itself into two sections that you need to knock down. First, you need to tackle down its flying body because it is attacking you and your team from the top. Defend yourself from its attacks and aware your team for rocket attacks that will come from the top. Its lower body has evolved a new ability that has the tendency to eject energy beam to protect itself from the jumping attacks. Guide your team to switch your standing place as fast as possible and defend all the energy beam coming from Wotan’s lower body. Locate an inner shield and use your Electric weapon to keep on attacking the Shield continuously. After a while, you will notice that another body of Wotan that is damaged. This signals that you have successfully completed this mission.
